Mallow Masters Short Course Gala - Medal Haul

Seven club swimmers won a total of 11 Gold, 5 Silver and 7 Bronze individual medals this year at the Mallow Masters Short Course Gala.

At the top of the leader board for the club was Colette Ahern (Newcastle West) who swam Munster record times in her age group & winning Golds in the 50 & 100m butterfly events, together with gold medals in the 100 & 200IM, 100 Freestyle and fin swim event.
Club coach Stephan Teeling-Lynch (Shannon) won gold in the 100 & 200IM events, and the 200 butterfly and finished with a silver medal in the 50m back-crawl event.

Bernadette Fagan (Newcastle West) won gold in her category in the 100m freestyle, and silver medals in the 100IM, 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle and finishing up with a bronze in the fin swim event.
Erin O’Donohue (Ennis) won gold in her age group in the 100m breaststroke, and bronze medals in the 100IM, 100 & 200m freestyle events.

Micheál Rooney (Kilmaley) picked up a silver medal in the 50m back crawl and a bronze medal in the 100IM in his age group.

Fiona Ward (Ballina) swimming in her first short course gala won bronze medals in the 50m back crawl and 200m freestyle events.

Edwin Nijs (Tuamgraney) swam in a number of events and recorded PB’s throughout and narrowly missed out on a podium place in the 400m freestyle after recording a massive 45 second PB.
